Brackley Town Saints 3 - Leighton Town 3

These sides will have to do it all again on Tuesday at Bell Close after an exciting 3-3 draw, after extra time last Saturday .

On one of the best playing surfaces around the hosts started confidently and created a couple of half chances before clipping the post with a long range effort.

Leighton took a long time to get moving and a good strike by Bateman was well saved by the Brackley keeper. Gallant went close before a superb through ball from Smith set up Bateman to give Leighton the lead. Almost immediately Gallant almost doubled the lead with a chip that the keeper did well to hold. Poor defending by the hosts let Gallant in to score the second and on the stroke of half-time Hewitt went very close to adding a third.

Brackley came out more determined for the second half and pulled a goal back almost immediately. Leighton defended well and had a couple of efforts when Condon headed over from a free kick and Maisiri forced the keeper into a good save at the post.

Gallant should have scored with a chip which went wide and the Leighton were fortunate when a great cross from the right went across the goalmouth with no one able to get a touch .

Brackley drew level when the ball was prodded home following a goal mouth scramble .

Although Brackley had a lot of late possession the Leighton defence held firm and they should have won the game in the last seconds when Campbell was clear through and with only the keeper to beat he shot wide .

Brackley went ahead early into extra time with a fabulous strike but Leighton worked hard and created some chances. The equaliser came 5 minutes from the end when a Hamilton strike was saved well by the keeper but from the resulting corner Smith struck
sweetly home to earn the replay.

After the replay on Tuesday, Town are at Home on Saturday in the League against AFC Broxbourne
