The Town welcomed Harpenden Town to Bell Close on Saturday Afternoon, as they entered their final 5 games of the season.

The match was sponsored by Copier Solutions, thank you for sponsoring the game, we hope you enjoyed your day at Bell Close!
Sweeney and Copson made 4 changes to the side that lost to Cockfosters last week, with Kyle Faulkner, Jay Caines, Dave Murphy and Goalkeeper Kev Patel coming into the side.
Town started brightly on a gorgeous afternoon in Leighton Buzzard and had 2 huge opportunities inside 10 minutes.
Firstly, Yusef Seodi struck the post with a drive across goal and Kyle Faulkner somehow couldn’t convert the rebound from a couple of yards.
Secondly, Jay Caines connected with McKee’s sliding cross but couldn’t turn it goal-wards.
Town continued to dominate proceedings, with Osborne and Fredericks dictating the play in the centre of the park.
Towns next chance came through Aaron McKee. His defence splitting run was picked out by Fredericks, but his shot was blocked well by a defender.
5 minutes later, Town took the lead!
Kyle Faulkner created space for himself 25 yards out and struck a fierce drive at goal that the keeper couldn’t keep out despite getting palms to it. 1-0 Town, a deserved lead after a superb first half display.
With the game heading towards Half-Time, Harpenden fashioned 2 chances of their own. Robinson’s looping header hit the top of the cross bar and McCelland’s free shot didn’t test Patel.
The start of the second half gave the signal for Town to continue playing good football!
However, Jay Caines entered the book for a late challenge.
Dave Murphy was then replaced by Michael Donkor.
Kyle Faulkner continued to cause the Harpenden defence problems and his great skill and strike nearly earned him a second goal, but Harpenden’s goalkeeper was equal to it!
Moments later, it was 2-0!
Ross Adams’ brilliant corner was attacked by Aaron McKee and he slammed the ball home to put the Town in pole position to take the 3 points!
Kuda Butawo then came on in place of Jay Caines, who made his first appearance in weeks after an injury.
Goal scorer Aaron McKee then came off for Tom Guiney.
The last real action of the game was when Harpenden substitute Stofa, blazed over from 3 yards out!
That was all the action at a Bell Close as Town record a clean sheet and 3 points in a fantastic team performance.

A superb attendance of 210 saw this game on a beautiful spring afternoon at Bell Close.

Thank you for your support, we hope to see you again away at London Tigers on Saturday.
