The Town travelled to Leverstock Green on Saturday afternoon, looking for their first 3 points since a 5-3 at home to Stotfold.

Leighton made 2 changes to the side that lost 3-0 to Biggleswade United. Dave Murphy and Ben Gallant replacing Matt Hall and Kyle Faulkner.
It was the Town that started the brightest at Pancake Lane. Aaron McKee disposed Luke Preedy in the centre of the park, before spraying out wide to Dom Marsala. Marsala’s ball in came to nothing, but it was certainly a warning to Leverstock.

Dom Marsala then went close just 3 minutes later, after some intelligent play from Ben Gallant, but a smart stop from Rob Partington denied him.
The Town continued to knock on the Green’s door and they were rewarded on the 20th minute! Lewis McBride slid a pass across the box into the path of Aaron McKee, who struck home from 12 yards!

After the Town’s fast start, the game hit a lull, with neither side creating much in the way of chances for the rest of the first half.
However, Lewis McBride was denied by Partington from distance just before the break.

At Half Time, both sides made changes, after injuries sustained in the first half.

Tom Silford was replaced by Matt Hall for the Town and Rob Partington, Leverstock’s Goalkeeper came off, that meant that central midfielder, Luke Preedy, donned the gloves and went between the posts.

After a lively first half, the second half couldn’t of been much different.

Leverstock Green pushed the Town back into their own half, but Charlie Jones didn’t have a save to make all game.
Brian Foulger and James Caines both came on, replacing Dom Marsala and Ben Gallant.

The Town managed the game extremely well and saw the game, to claim a deserved and well earned 3 points, for the 3rd time on the road this season in the league!

Next up for the Town, is a trip to Tring Athletic on Tuesday Evening, in the Quarter Final of the League Challenge Trophy.
Thank you for your support once again, we hope to see you on Tuesday Evening!
Up the Town!
