Leighton Town 0 - Northwood 3

Poor defending cost Town dearly last Saturday when visiting Northwood took the points back from Bell Close.
A dreadful mix up and poor decision making in the 9th minute let Nico Muir stroke cooly home when clean through. Town responded with a couple of half chances which came to nothing and they were made to pay when a needless challenge was penalised by the referee and Louis Stead managed to strike the ball over the defensive wall into the top corner to double the lead.
Town rallied and both Ben Gallant and Russell Bull went close and an excellent save from Northwood 'keeper Lawrencin preserved their 2 goal cushion.
Aaron Bufton in the Town goal made a great save at the start of the second period but on 65 minutes he was once again beaten by another superb free kick from Stead.
Town had a good spell and James Hatch went close on a couple of occassions but Northwood always looked dangerous and missed a couple of relatively easy chances.
Town will be very disappointed with this poor performance but should be boosted by the return of Alex O'Brien and Aaron McKee their two strongest midfielders for the F. A Trophy game at Enfield Town next Saturday.
Their game at AFC Rushden scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed as Rushden have an F. A. Cup Replay. This should give Manager Mark Eaton time to work on his sides problems and recover their confidence fot the Saturday trip to North London.
