On this Thursday night game, Twitter admin was seemingly bored as the game never looked to get started – only spluttering briefly into life as Stotfold opened the scoring just before the 20-minute mark. Aaron Hector brought the ball confidently into Town’s box and squared nicely to give Kade Bagge an easy open goal finish.
Town tested their hosts for a moment, yet it was nothing that a double tackle from Sam Nicholls couldn’t solve as he ended their attack.
After the break, Town’s second and third real chances came and went. First, Oran Jackson headed high and over from a looping corner. Then, on 67’ – half time substitute Luke Pyman provided a rare glimmer of excitement in this game – driving a low volley on to the left upright.
Although perhaps a drab game, it was a good test for a number of development players – and now Town focus on Leverstock Green away on Saturday in the last league outing of the season.
