Town's new signing defender Bill Morgan was among the Town substitutes. Ollie Leslie was selected in goal.
The game got off to a lively start and Arlesey had the first shot of the game but Ollie Leslie in the Town goal saved comfortably. Town then attacked at the other end of the pitch but the home keeper made a good save. Arlesey then had another chance when Leighton failed to clear the ball but Leslie made a good save. Then Town made a quick break down the length of the pitch but Dave Parkinson's shot was blocked at th expense of a corner. Ethan Flanagan headed wide from the corner kick.
In the 13th minute Arlesey took the lead after some good work down their right flank by the lively Miller saw him cross the ball and an Arlesey shot took a big deflection and finished in the corner of the net. A couple of minutes later from a Leighton corner Alfie Osborne blasted his shot high over the bar. Then some clever approach work saw Luke Dunstan and Dave Parkinson create an opportunity for Danny Webb but his effort was blocked by a defender. In the 21 st minute the hosts added a second goal when more good work by Miller set up Carvalho who stroked a low shot into the far corner of the net.
Town got back into the game in the 24th minute when Webb broke quickly down the right flank before squaring the ball into the 6 yard box where Luke Dunstan was on hand to force the ball into the net.
Webb created a chance for himself after another speedy run down the wing but unfortunately his well struck effort went into the side netting. Just before the break a powerful shot from 25 yards by Jordon Frederick went just wide of the post.
Town were forced to make a substitution at half time when James Towell replaced the injured Jordon Frederick. In the 65th minute Town drew level when Ashton Campbell chased a through pass and tried to lift the ball over the keeper who could only push the ball into the air, as the ball dropped beneath the bar Danny Webb was on hand to head home.
In the 74th minute it looked as if Town might take the lead when Campbell beat his marker but then put his effort wide of the far post , although Parkinson was very close to making contact .
With only a few minutes remaining James Towell struck a shot narrowly wide after Town had won a corner. Ashton Campbell then had a good chance to win the game for Leighton but the keeper blocked his close range effort.
With time running out the hosts scored an undeserved winner when an Arlesey player won the ball in a challenge with Joe Fitzgerald and laid it to the side for Sayer to slide it into the goal.
