Town were on the hunt to continue their recent rich vein of form and their latest opponents were Edgware Town

who journeyed to Bell Close on Saturday.
7 wins out of 8 in all competitions going into this one, Town were ready to show what they could do, despite the poor conditions.
Town lined up as follows: Kirkwood, Bryant, Silford, Murphy, Donkor, Osborne, Towell, Fredericks (C), Pattie, Webb, McClelland.
In recent weeks, Town have started proceedings very brightly and Saturday was no different. Just 16 minutes into the tie, they had the lead! Ben Pattie out on the right, cut inside on to his left and whipped a delicious strike into the far post! 1-0!
With the ball slipping all over the place, possession was turning over constantly. But, that didn’t dampen Town’s spirits and they extended their lead on 31 minutes!
Danny Webb latched onto a loose ball and drove past his defender, before firing across goal to make it 2-0!
Town love a goal or 2, or 3, or 4, in the first half and they had a 3rd before 40 minutes!
The Edgware keeper, Frazer Siddall, completely spilled the ball to Jordon Fredericks in the area, who went to tap home into the empty net. The ball stopped on the line, holding up in the goalmouth and Webb charged in to tuck it home!
Just before half-time, another goal! This time for the visitors. Benavides’ low cross was unfortunately deflected into the Town net by Murphy, as he was trying to clear.
At the break, Town went in with a commanding 3-1 lead.
Brad Kirkwood was called into action 10 minutes into the second period, making a good low save to his right.
That was all of the action for the first 25 minutes of the second half, with neither team creating real opportunities.
Danny Webb and Archie McClelland were then replaced by Ashton Campbell and Kuda Butawo.
Campbell was immediately into the action, but he fired over the bar from inside the area.
As the game entered the latter stages, Town made it 4 and in spectacular fashion again!
Ben Pattie, with his back to goal, on the turn, fired a beautiful strike with his left foot into the top right, perfectly into the top corner! What an amazing strike!
However, 2 minutes later and the visitors pulled it back to a 2 goal deficit. Kirkwood made a brilliant first save, but a cross cake back in and was turned home.
Edgware piled on some late pressure, trying to take something back to Silver Jubilee Park.
They should’ve made it 4-3, however, the first effort, a great lobbed attempt hit the under side of the bar, before the rebound was blazed over from about 2 yards out by Page!
Ben Pattie was soon replaced by Sonny Newbury-Barr.
Newbury-Barr almost made an immediate impact with a header, but a good save denied him!
Not long after that good save, the referee blew for full-time.
Another comprehensive victory for the Town, as they make it 4 straight league wins and 8 wins out of 9 in all competitions.
Up next, we welcome Crawley Green to Bell Close on Tuesday.
Thank you for your support, 134 of you joined us in miserable conditions yesterday! All of us at the club appreciate it!
