The 4th game of the FA Vase this season already came around on Saturday and the Town welcomed Broxbourne Borough to Bell Close, in the 2nd Round Proper.

Both sides in the Spartan leagues, however Broxbourne one lower than Town in Division One, this had all the potentials of a great game of football.
Town lined up as follows: Kirkwood, Bryant, Silford, Murphy, Resch, Fredericks, McClelland, Towell, Pattie, Webb, Campbell.
In recent weeks, Town have started very quickly and it was the same case once again.
Danny Webb caused early problems testing the Broxbourne goalkeeper from range and from a testing cross.
On 17 minutes however, the first goal went Town’s way! A corner whipped in with pace was flicked on by Murphy and there was Danny Webb, to tap him to give Town a deserved early lead!
Town continued to dominate proceedings and chances also fell their way. Pattie going close, McClelland too.
Town went even closer shortly after, when Danny Webb’s low drive after breaking clear clattered the woodwork.
However, just before half time, Webb had his second! A good ball in was attacked by the man in a rich vein of form and Town went in at the break with a 2 goal lead.
5 minutes into the second period and Town extended their advantage even further!
Ashton Campbell’s brilliant work saw him manage to squeeze a ball back to Ben Pattie, who on his first start for the club, tucked the ball home with ease!
Just 2 minutes later and Pattie went and got his 2nd of the game.
A great ball by Silford released him and he slotted last the keeper with aplomb. That’s 5 goals in 3 games for the striker!
Pattie was brought off shortly after, Kuda Butawo came on in his place.
With the score at 4-0, Broxbourne were awarded a penalty after Brad Kirkwood brought down their right back.
The man himself stepped up to take it, but Kirkwood redeemed himself with a fine penalty save to his left!
Town pressed on looking for a 5th, Towell and Fredericks both going close on separate occasions.
The boys in red and white were then awarded a penalty! Tom Silford brought down in the box!
Danny Webb got the ball, stepped up and fired the ball home for his hat-trick!
The Hat-Trick-Hero was then replaced by Josh Setchell. Setchell, part of our Under 18 squad and just 17-years-old, making his first team debut!
James Towell entered the referee’s book for a late tackle in the centre of the park, with 15 minutes to go.
Not long after, he was replaced by Anthony Leslie.
Brad Kirkwood made a brilliant save from a free-Kick from about 40 yards, that was struck with a lot of venom.
However, back-to-back clean sheets for Kirkwood would not happen, as Broxbourne pulled a goal back. A good bit of skill past Resch from Bowers got him clear, his initial shot saved but the rebound was tucked away, to make the scoreline 5-1.
There was still time for Town to create more chances. Butawo and McClelland couldn’t capitalise on a mistake from the goalkeeper.
Ashton Campbell though, he took the final chance of the game!
A smart finish from the man also in good form, 6 in his last 5, to seal the deal on another very good Town performance!
The 6-1 win sees Town progress through to Round 3 of the Vase, the last 64 stage!
More good football, more goals and more fantastic support from you! 152 of you saw the win in poor weather! Thank you for your continued support!
Next up, we welcome Wembley to Bell Close on Tuesday in the Dudley Latham Trophy.
