The Town travelled to Willen Road for their first league game in 5 weeks, as they faced Newport Pagnell Town.

Town lined up as follows: Patel, Bryant, Silford, Murphy (C), Davison-Gordon, Osborne, Webb, Stevens, Murrell, Towell, Campbell.
It was a bright start from Town, with Murrell testing the goalkeeper within the opening exchanges.
Danny Webb went close on 6 and 14 minutes, firing to drives over the bar, getting the better of Ex-Town man, Matt Hall.
But, just moments after Webb’s second chance, Newport took the lead.
Leon Lobjoit brought the ball down on his chest and volleyed a sweet strike into the top right corner. 1-0 to the hosts.
Town continued to show some brightness in the final third, despite clear frailties up against Burnside and Lobjoit. Murrell hit the outside of the post after Webb’s work up against Hall.
Town’s biggest and well, final chance of the game, came with 10 minutes to go before half time. Murrell had a shot in the area saved well by the Newport keeper. The rebound fell to Leigh Stevens, who somehow missed from a matter of yards, with the goal gaping.
Then came Newport’s second. Multiple mistakes lead to Burnside tapping into the empty net.
The second half rolled around and Town couldn’t get themselves going, despite the importance of the fixture.
Joe Sweeney, without Paul Copson for the afternoon, brought Archie McClelland on in replace of Alfie Osborne on the 54th minute.
Shortly after, Ross Adams came on for Leigh Stevens.
A penalty shout after a push on McClelland was Town’s only ‘chance’ of the second period.
But, up the other end Newport went and there was Burnside to tap a cross home from a yard out. 3-0.
Chances missed was what cost Town the game and all of those chances came in the first period.
Ross Adams entered the book as the game entered its final 20 minutes.
Town’s final change saw Ben Pattie come on for Aaron Murrell.
2 headers from Town in the last 10 minutes were all they could muster trying to get themselves back in the game.
The 4th and final goal for Newport came from a corner. Petal flapped at the cross and Lobjoit was there to head home into the empty net.
A game where Newport took their chances and Town didn’t. But, a very disappointing day at the office.
Next up, is Tuesday evenings trip to Preston Park to take on Harefield United in the league.
