In what had already been a good week for Town, picking up their first league win of the season

they were looking to get their 2nd on Saturday, as they travelled to rock-bottom North Greenford United.
Town made just one change to the side that beat Leverstock Green on Saturday. They lined up as follows: Kirkwood, Bryant, Silford, Murphy, Donkor, Newbury-Barr, Towell, Fredericks, Campbell, Webb, McClelland.
Town knew they had to get out of the traps quickly at Berkeley Fields. They were shooting downhill in the first period, on a very boggy pitch, that has a very distinct slope.
Out of the traps they came and what a start it was.
McClelland and Campbell both had good chances saved well by House in the Greenford goal inside 3 minutes.
But, inside 6, Town took the lead! Webb teed up Campbell, who fired his strike past House, putting Town a goal-to-the-good! Campbell ending somewhat of a personal goal drought.
But there certainly hasn’t been a Town drought as of late and 2 minutes later it was 2-0! You’ll never guess who scored...
Danny Webb got away from the backline and struck a fierce drive across House and it nestled in the far corner!
The goals died down for a little while, but Town remained dominant.
James Towell struck the post just before the half-hour mark. His shot cannoning back off of the woodwork.
10 minutes before Half-Time, Town were awarded their 4th penalty in 4 games!
Archie McClelland went tumbling over in the area.
Danny Webb got the ball in his hands and finished with aplomb, making it 3-0 and getting his second of the game. 8 in 3 games for Webb, or 10 in 5!
Half-Time was looming and Town knew they faced an uphill battle in the second half, literally, an uphill battle.
However, there was still time for one more goal before the interval!
Ashton Campbell did brilliantly out on the right to tee up Towell, who arrowed his shot into the top left corner to make it 4-0!
The second half got underway and Town immediately set out on he front foot. Archie McClelland denied by the hands of House.
However, Greenford then started to have a spell of dominance in the game, as the sun started to shine in Berkeley Fields.
They pulled a goal back on 57 minutes, after Conor Molyneux got on the end of a cross and flicked it past Kirkwood.
Town then set about seeing the game out. Sonny Newbury-Barr was replaced by Alex Condon, making his first appearance since returning the club!
A few minutes later and Archie McClelland was replaced by Ben Pattie.
As the minutes ticked on, Town began to get more and more nervy. Greenford capitalised on that and made it 4-2, after Andrew Manitou scrappily converted.
With the gap now just 2 goals, Town knew they had to pull themselves out of their own half and re-assert their dominance.
Campbell and Pattie both had shots saved well by House in quick succession.
Greenford continued to threaten Town’s rearguard. Michael Donkor was positioned well to clear off of the line.
A moment later and Town managed to move the goal margin back up to 3! But it could’ve easily been 4-3!
A Greenford corner was attacked well at the far post, but a fine low save by Kirkwood kept them at bay.
Bryant cleared up the line and set Webb away, who drove into the box and squared to Campbell who tucked it away for 5-2! His 2nd of the game!
Danny Webb was then replaced by Anthony Leslie, making his return from injury.
Town were in the mood once again and they could’ve had more as the game entered the dying embers.
Ashton Campbell hit the post, Tom Bryant has 2 1-on-1’s saved and a rebound blocked, Pattie had a shot saved!
But, 5-2 was to be the scoreline once again, after Tuesday nights 5-2 triumph over Leverstock Green.
A convincing performance from Town, who did the hard work in the first period.
Goals from Campbell (2), Webb (2) and Towell, see Town claim those all important 2nd 3 points of the season.
A good week all round, with 3 wins, 12 goals, 6 points and a home tie against Broxbourne Borough in the 2nd round of the Vase!
Thank you for your support. Attentions turn to Bedford Town at home on Tuesday Evening in the Beds Senior Cup!
