The Town welcomed Division One side Hillingdon Borough to Bell Close on Tuesday Evening, in the League Challenge Trophy,

in front of Club Legend and Fan Favourite, Bruno Brito, much to the Shed End’s delight.
The Town were looking to continue their good form under the guidance of Joe Sweeney and Paul Copson, after a convincing win at home on Saturday over Stotfold.
There was a debut for Dan Jones, who would accompany Aaron McKee in the heart of the Leighton midfield.
The Town looked to start as brightly as they did on Saturday, playing some really good, intricate football in the final third.
The Town’s liveliness was nearly rewarded after 3 minutes, but Kelvin Osei-Addo couldn’t take his chance and the ball rolled just past the post.
The Town would live to roux that miss, as Hillingdon took the lead inside 10 minutes. Sean Peters seemed to run through all of the Leighton defenders, before blasting into the far corner from inside the penalty area.
That would not phase the Town though, as they continued to play promising, attacking and entertaining football and causing the Hillingdon defence, serious problems.
Kyle Faulkner had an effort saved well by Norbert Kesse-Ady, and Dom Marsala was also denied excellently by the Borough shot-stopper.
However, he could do nothing when Kyle Faulkner was brought down inside the area and the referee pointed to the penalty spot.
Kelvin Osei-Addo stepped up with a surprisingly short run up and put it past the goalkeeper, into the bottom right corner, although he did get a palm to it.
Borough then had a chance with Paul Murphy, but his header went wide.
Karl Ealy then picked up an injury for Borough, and was replaced by Kyle Fredricks.
The Second Half started just as fast as the first, as Curtis Tunstall went close for Borough, but the shot went just wide of Charlie Jones goal, in front of the Shed End.
The next 20 minutes of play, were rather subdued, with neither team creating too much, to test either goalkeeper.
But midway through the second period, the Town took the lead!
The ball broke kindly in the box to Dan Jones and he slotted the ball home, to give the Town a 2-1 advantage on his debut!
Kelvin Osei-Addo was then replaced by George Armstrong.
Just 2 minutes after the restart, Borough thought they had levelled.
Paul Murphy’s effort was saved well by Jones, however, the rebound fell to Sean Peters who thought he had his second of the game and he ran away celebrating. As did Kyle Fredricks, who ran in front of the Shed End, thinking it was now 2-2.
But much to the Shed End’s amusement and to Fredricks embarrassment, he realised the linesman had put his flag up! So, it stayed at 2-1!
Only 3 minutes later, the Town went further in front, to rub salt into Fredricks wounds.
Lewis McBride played a pass into Sam Tamakloe who had gotten forward from right back. He drilled his shot low and hard across the goalkeeper and in, to make it 3-1!
Matt Hall was then replaced by Kyle Davison-Gordon.
Michael Donkor, who impressed on his first Leighton start, was then replaced by Kerran Birch.
Kirk Herbert was also replaced by Mo Abdulkadir, for Borough.
There would still be more drama as the game entered injury time.
A Borough defender was sent off for a Second Yellow Card after a terrible challenge, as Leighton kept the ball in the corner.
Only a minute later, with not long left on the clock, the Town made it 4.
Lewis McBride, who was exceptional once again, hit a strike perfectly into the Top Left Corner, to wrap up the game for the Town, and allow them to progress into the Quarter Final!
Another fantastic performance by the Reds, as they make it 2 wins on the bounce for the first time this season!

The Town will face Tring Athletic in the next round of the competition.
This is on the 27th of November, a 19:45 Kick Off, at the Grass Roots Stadium. The Town will look for some revenge after their humiliation there, earlier this season.

Next up for the Town, is a trip to Cogenhoe United on Saturday, in the 2nd round of the FA Vase!

Let’s try and create a repeat of last years Vase success! Your support counts!

Que Sera Sera! Up the Town!
