Town produced probably their best performance of the season on Tuesday night when beating League leaders Biggleswade FC in a League Cup Match at Bell Close.

They looked a different side compared to the team well beaten by Edgware last Saturday, and didn't let their opponents settle at all, and played some excellent exciting football.

Both sides had chances in the first half but defences were solid and both 'keepers were in good form.

The Visitors went ahead early in the second half when Town 'keeper Tom Wyant fouled Tom Cookman on the very edge of the box. Nathan George despatched the spot kick.

Town raised their game and took the game to Biggleswade who defended desperately at times, and they held out until very near the end when Town got a deserved equaliser.
Following a corner on the right the ball was played accross the penalty area to Kai Ashley who set up Lewis McBride to fire home from 20 yards with Sam Wyer in the visitor's goal a mere spectator.

Dom Marsala almost won it for Leighton in the final minute but his effort clipped the post and stayed out.

Both sides missed penalties before Tom Wyant made a great save to set himself up to score Leighton's winning penalty.

A great result and a fabulous performance and an excellent exciting game in which both sides played some lovely football.
