to collect signatures for their petition lobbying for the building of a medical centre in the town. As well as collecting a significant number of signatures from local people, they were able to meet our volunteers and supporters and sample the special matchday atmosphere at the FVCS at Bell Close.
Susanne took the trouble to message us yesterday and it was lovely to hear such positive feedback from someone who had never visited LTFC before.
Susanne's email: -
"Thank you so much for letting Martin and me collect signatures for the Health Matters! Campaign before yesterday’s game. It was lovely to be welcomed warmly by everyone and we added over a hundred signatures to the petition! We did not stay once the match was underway and did not like to disturb anyone to say our goodbyes, so please will you thank your non-playing team for everything on our behalf?
I am sure you are proud of the Club already, but our experience of it was impressive. It really was good to see the immaculate ground and well-staffed club house and seeing your supporters so enthusiastic but well-mannered. In fact, I was so impressed, with your permission I would like to write to the local paper to express my respect for this aspect of my adopted hometown.
It was sad to see the match result, but I am sure, with the support they so obviously have, the boys will pick themselves up and put on another good display at the next fixture.
All good wishes, Susanne"
We extend our warmest wishes to Susanne and Martin and wish them every success with their important campaign.
