Message From The Chairman

Andrew Parker16 Dec - 16:43

At the half-point of the season we stand proudly on top of the Southern League Division One Central.

We all know the challenges that lie ahead both on and off the pitch, but we need to take a moment to reflect on and enjoy this fantastic achievement. It is also pleasing to report that we stand on top of the 'Respect League' for our division which is made up of the following elements:
Behaviour of Club Officials/Benches
Quality and cleanliness of Match Official’s Dressing Room
Quality of Hospitality provided by the club

Points are deducted for Marks deducted as follows: Caution for Dissent - 4 points Dismissal for Foul & Abusive Language - 12 points (Including bench personnel)

We caught up with Town Chairman, Sean Downey this week and he had the following to say:

"Despite the recent setbacks, to be top of the league at the half-way point of the season is way beyond what we could ever have imagined, or hoped for, at the outset of the season. This is a tribute to the hard work and talent of the football management team, physio team and of course the players. They, however, would be the first to stress the important role played by the club's hardworking Executive Committee, and outstanding volunteers, supporters and sponsors, who all care so much about our club and wider community. There is a strong community spirit that is palpable to all who visit The Freed Veneers Community Stadium on matchdays and it is something we are all very proud of.

I have always believed that we should be "more than a football club" and it is pleasing to see that our work to make the club a welcoming place to be is reflected in our position in the league's 'Respect Table'. Our work to support local volunteer charities continues and it is great to see the club's facilities being used more and more by local businesses, social groups and other organisations and as a place to hold special family and work events. We should all take great pride in these achievements and our role as an important community hub for all.

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of everyone at the club to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a successful 2026. I look forward to seeing many of you at our games on the 13th December v AFC Dunstable, 20th December v Flackwell Heath and on the 3rd of January v Barton Rovers. Let's get behind Reedy and the lads! Up The Town!"
