Andrew Parker

Sincere thanks to everyone who attended yesterday's game v Peterborough Sports FC, both to support the team and to say farewell to Paul Reed

who has stepped down as First Team Manger after two years at the helm. It was an emotional day for Paul, his family and everyone associated with our fantastic football club. Paul will be remembered forever for the unbridled joy he, his Management Team, and players brought to the club during last season's historic title win; one that was as unexpected as it was outstanding.

The atmosphere at the Freed Veneers Community Stadium yesterday, was electric; our club at its very best; and although the result was disappointing, we must remember the level we are now competing at. Peterborough Sports were playing in the National League last season and their aim this season is quite simple; to return to Step 2 at the first time of asking. They and many other teams in our league have resources we can only dream of but I genuinely believe that we can compete at this level and maintain our Step 3 status as long as we remain focused and patient, appoint well, and maintain our support.

Following discussions today I can announce that our Head of Football, Guy Kefford, supported by coach Paul Bonham and our Head of Youth Development, Enzo Silvestri, will take charge of the team for our Bedfordshire Senior Cup game against Barton Rovers FC, at home on Tuesday night. This is an experienced group of people with the skills and football knowledge to galvanise the team at a challenging time. This will be a short term arrangement pending the start of a recruitment process, the aim of which will be to appoint a First Team Manager with significant experience of Step 3 football and above.

As a mark of respect for, and thanks to our amazing supporters, season tickets will be eligible for use on Tuesday. Let's get behind Guy, Paul, Enzo and the players at an important time in the season when it has never been more important to come together as the strong, resilient and passionate football community we are. I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.
