– as Hertfordshire’s Orbital Fasteners Stadium played host to a fine performance for Gary Flinn’s side.
Things started shakily for Town as the hosts hit the post with Isaac Pedro just seven minutes in. After a scrappy spell, momentum did ultimately go Leighton’s way. Finlay Brennan drove home a low volley from a poorly dealt with corner on 35 minutes.
Almost straight from the restart, it was double delight. Luke Pyman slithered through the defence, before slamming the ball into the top right corner.
The second half reflected a dominant Town performance. A slew of chances halted Kings Langley’s offensive push. On 68’, Brennan couldn’t get his second goal – missing a Seb Simpson cross. On 74’, Lee Cooksey was misfiring too from a dropping corner. One man who didn’t miss was Albie Hall. Rounding off a solid all-round display, the marksman bundled home a frantic corner knockdown sealing the Leighton win.
