A very disappointing result and performance by Town last night at Aylesbury F.C. Writes Iain Mcgregor.
They started the game well and had a lot of early posssession but didn't create
any real scoring opportunities .
Aylesbury went ahead when following some good play down the right the ball was
crosed in and an un-marked Prosper headed home . Sub Lynton Goss - brother of
former Town favourite Aston - scored a second soon after - when left free inside the box .
Town's cause was not helped when Jamie Nicholl was red-carded for a tackle mid-way
through the half .
Sadly , very poor defending just before the break, let French increase the lead .
Town started the second half very positively and had a couple of efforts which went just
over the bar but they suffered badly when the Hosts broke quickly and Goss scored again .
To their credit Town never gave up and scored a lovely goal by Danny Watson from a good
move . However this was brief respite and the Hosts took control and scored three more
in quick succession from Goss -2 and Prosper .
French scored again just at the end to seal a very convincing win for the home side .
Town next travel to Bedford for a Red Insure Cup game K O 3.00 pm this coming Saturday .
Manager Bicknell and the Players will go there knowing that they won there well , a couple
of weeks ago , in the League . They know that they can play much better and get results ,
as they have proved earlier this season , and accept that this poor result was a one off and
they will put it behind them and regain their earlier confidence . We all know what they are
capable of - and we all support them as they will work hard get back to winning ways .
