Leighton's Losing Streak Continues

Leighton Town Hosted Egham town on non League day, and are 1-0 down within the first 8 minutes, through a goalkeeping error by Matt Griggs. Leighton town pressed throughout the first half to equalise, with some great moves, by Kyle Durcan setting Danny Watson up, who shot over, and Jerry Lyons Shooting straight at the Keeper. Egham could have been two up after 25 minutes, when Jerry Lyons Fouled Calvin Thomas, on the edge of the box. Free-kick taken by Maurice Harkin, and was Cleared by Tyrone Taylor. Half Time Leighton 0- 1 Egham.

Leighton Decided to sub Danny Watson, who was playing despite suffering from the flu at half time, and replace him with Aaron Morgan. Aaron made a great impression from the off, and had a great run, and crossed the ball in to Tyrone Taylor, who headed at goal, and was only stopped by a Fantastic save by Jamie Norris. However, defensive error by Leighton town left Griggs facing a one on one with Josh Andrew, who lobbed him and scored Egham’s Second. On 52 minutes Leighton Town Decided to make a Double substitution and took off Kyle Durcan and Jerry Lyons and replaced them with Ex Pro Rory Prendergast, and Stephan Kemoagna. With Both Team pushing for a goal, Egham decided to take Daniel Williamson with Bendon Matthews, which was quickly followed by Josh Andews being removed and Duane Antonio replacing him. Leighton made a great move on 74 minutes, with Aaron Moragan and Stephan Kemoagna linking up well, however Morgan is taken down off the ball, and Kemoagna continuing the run which is blocked. This was followed by Egham’s Final Substitution with Dan Read being replaced Matt Grace.

Egham scored again in the 82nd minute, to make it 3-0 final score.
