After a late equaliser cost them 3 points on Tuesday, Town were back and ready to go as they welcomed Harefield United to Bell Close on Saturday.

Despite the very fast starts supporters have been used to in recent weeks, Town took 18 minutes to net in this one. Danny Webb however did have a chance shortly before, but couldn’t find the target from inside the area.
Ben Pattie set his sights on the far post with a curling strike, that skidded past the goalkeeper on a slippery surface.
1-0, but not long for, as Harefield were given the opportunity to make it 1-1.
Michael Donkor’s accidental handball in the area, so the referee point to the spot.
Lenney stepped up for the visitors and slotted it past Benney into the bottom corner.
Benney was called into some action shortly after though and made a fine save down low to his right.
Webb went close just before half-time, but couldn’t find the finishing touch he’s had in recent weeks.
At the break, McClelland was replaced by Conway.
Silford and Webb were straight out of the traps in the second period, but both saw efforts saved excellently by the goalkeeper.
A scrappy game continued to play out in front of the strong 150 crowd at Bell Close, with neither side dominating in terms of possession or chances.
However, a moment of class would see Town go in front again! James Towell set his sights from range and struck the ball brilliantly into the back of the net! 2-1 to the Town.
They nearly gave Harefield a chance to reply immediately again though, Benney was forced to make a superb save.
On 70 minutes, with Town on the charge, Harefield saw 2 yellow cards at once. 2 fouls in quick succession from a defender and the on-rushing goalkeeper, on Danny Webb, who was in on goal. Supporters were in disbelief a red was not shown to the keeper.
Town made a second change, which saw Ben Pattie replaced by Ashton Campbell.
Time continued to tick on and Dan Benney would prove to be a Town hero yet again! He made 2 brilliant saves in quick succession to shut out the opposition.
With Harefield pushing on, Town were forced to hit the visitors on the counter attack and almost claimed a third, when Towell and Webb combined smartly. Towell’s effort however, saved by the foot of the goalkeeper.
Harefield continued to throw the kitchen sink forward, but couldn’t find the finishing touch in the area. A team, who beat Town 3-1, back in September.
Conway blasted over in stoppage time and that would prove to be the final action of the tie as Town saw the game out, to claim another 3 points!
The Reds now up to 10th in the league, claiming back ground on the leading pack!
5 league games through November have seen Town claim 13 points! In all competitions, it’s been 11 wins from 13, with just 1 defeat!
A great run of form and Town will be looking to continue that as they head into 2 cup fixtures.
The first a trip to Shefford in the League Challenge Trophy on Tuesday, before Saturday’s huge game at home against Eastbourne Town in the FA Vase!
Thank you for your support today, we need your support for Saturday’s game against Eastbourne!
We hope to see you there!
