Leighton Loose 3-2 to Combined Counties Division one Team Bedfont and Feltham FC

Leighton Loose out on place in FA Cup..

Leighton Town FC Travelled to play Bedfont and Feltham FC in the FA cup Preliminary round, and took an away following of over 20, with them. Bedfont play in the Combined Counties Division one, which is at step 5 of the football pyramid 2 steps below Leighton Town

Leighton town Kicked off the game. The first half was very evenly matched between the two teams, with Bedfont not letting Leighton play their normal game. Leighton were not helping themselves though, with no communication and misplacing a lot of their passes. Leighton found themselves going into the break with the scoreline still 0-0.

Bedfont Kicked off the second half, with the same team, however leighton decided to take Aaron Morgan off, and replaced him with Christian Lester. Leighton Started the second half, brightly with a number of early chances, however their frustration started to set in and in the 49th minute gave away a penalty, for a push in the box, which Bedfont's number 10 Jason Pinnock converted.

Alvin, got booked in the 52nd minute for decent after the ref appeared to give a throw the wrong way. Leighton decided it was time for a change to get back in control of the game, and took Warren Garcia off and replaced him with Tyrone Taylor. Bedfont's number 8 Patrick Craig, got through one on one with Dan Green, who raced out his box, and both collided. The Ref gave a Free kick from which Luke Craig scored straight from.

Bedfonts Third goal came from a lovely shot by Jmal Velinor, after rounding a number of leighton's defenders, shot and scored.

After the restart, Leighton pushed forward and ended up with a free-kick, after an elbow in the back of Christian Lester. Bedfont's Alex Afful, was given his marching orders, for the elbow.

Having the extra man gave Leighton the advantage, and from the awarded free-kick Mark Bunker Scored.

With 69 minutes gone, Alvin was replaced by Robbie Goodman.

As Leighton raced on to get their second goal, a clash between 2 players saw the Bedfont player go down, however he rolled out of play. To make sure the referee saw it the Bedfont keeper also went down, so the referee blew up. The resulting free kick saw a lot of action for Leighton with crosses in to the box, and throw in’s however they could not convert the chances into a goal.

Bedfont decided in the 72th minute to make their first change, replacing Velinor with Joseph Ataro. This was followed by luck Craig being subbed on on the 77th minute with Cyrus Vanterpool replacing. Leighton got a free-kick for Mathew Francis cutting across a Leighton Player, which also resulted in Francis getting booked.

Mark bunker Takes the Freekick, which is deflected into for an own goal. The last ten minutes, was very scrappy, with a lot of free kicks given. Leighton kept pushing forward, and in the 87th minute Christian Lester was booked for decent twice in a minute over a throw in given the wrong way by the referee. Bedfont made their final sub in 88 minutes replacing Jason Pinnock with Hamid Bangoura.

Final score 3-2 to bedfont and Feltham.

Leighton play Egham at home at bell close on Saturday (6th September) which is national non league day. Entry to game will be reduced from £8 for adults to £5, and Under 16’s go free. Concessions will be £3.
