Interview With Town’s Alfie Osborne

By Andrew Parker

Alfie Osborne Interview with Kieran Carvell

As recent form goes, we’re on a pretty impressive run, 5 unbeaten, 1 goal conceded, what do you put that down to?

I think that the mentality in recent weeks has completely changed, the gaffer and coppo have got a real good morale going. we’ve got a great mix now of experienced senior players and youthful players who are keen to prove a point at this level. The skipper demands a real intensity in training too which I think gets everyone going. There’s a real spirit within the squad and we all know that everyone has got fire in there belly to get 3 points every week. Plus I think by bringing in signings who are proven at this level like Jordon it’s really made everyone fight for there place every week as we know that the squad we’ve got is strong. We’ve become a tight unit. We all just want to get further up that table and put a good performance in for the loyal fans that turn out every week.
You mentioned the intensity at training and from someone on the sidelines it seems like the boys are fitter and can last the 90 minutes, would you say that’s down to the training and the gym sessions in the studio?
Absolutely! The sessions at the studio have been brilliant for us and the boys have actually really enjoyed them, there’s a good atmosphere in there! The training sessions have been great, we’re adding a lot of fitness and footwork in to it as well as working on things to take into a Saturday.
Great to hear, on a personal level, you’re performances certainly haven’t gone unnoticed in recent weeks, are you enjoying your football at the moment?
Thank you, I’m loving it here yeah, I had a bad injury at the start of season at Harpenden and then I came over here and did some rehab work with the physio and since then I’ve worked hard to get into the team. But yeah I’ve really enjoyed it, I get a lot of the ball in the role I play and I also like to mix it in rough games which you get a lot of in this league so it suits me well. The boys and the staff behind the scenes are all great they welcomed me and the new boys in well and we’ve all clicked straight away. It’s a great club to be at. I hope that we can really kick on now and finish strong.
Glad to hear it mate. finally, back to league action tomorrow night, can we keep this run going?
Yeah big game tomorrow again, I’d like to think so yes, no disrespect to tigers but these are the games we should be taking 3 points from. There’s confidence in the camp for the game and I hope we can put on a good performance and keep the run going.

Me and the boys are so appreciative with the fans turning up and paying money every week and showing us great support, it’s been great and has really drove us on in recent weeks! Keep coming and getting behind us #UTT!
